The sun

Again I sit here next to Eli and stare out over the beautiful landscape that surrounds our room. Flowers are over flowing, pictures of the kids and family on the sill, and the sun is beating in on us and I feel it. Warm and spectacular shining down on our miracle boy.God is letting me know today that he is everywhere around us with his beauty, love, and strength.

Eli, had a great night in his terms. His blood pressure stayed up and his pulse ox stayed low (we want this). His lactate level is between 4 and 5 which is good for E. HE IS PEEING!!!!! He is not stable enough to have surgery yet we need him to stay at these levels for 48 hours before he can handle open heart surgery. We have our favorite Doctors on with us again, love you Dr Crowley and Jason Christensen. They know our boy and know he causes trouble, but also know how to handle him. Dr Crowley said they are presenting Eli’s case to all cardio staff today to get them ready. Looks like we are switching surgeons to Dr Bove, so we don’t have to wait for Dr Ohye to get back from a conference.

Dr Crowley also told Ron and I to rest up the next two days as much as possible because it will get bad after the surgery. Just a warning to everyone of what is to come.

Here are some sweet pictures from this morning!

  5. Fantastic news!!! Praise Jesus!!! These truly are such sweet pictures! Precious Eli looks much less swollen than when I saw him last night!!! Thank You Jesus for hearing and answering our prayers!!! I love your description of the sun and being surrounded by God this morning! I had a similar experience last night when I left the hospital. I left after Eli had just started peeing again and he was getting a little better. On my drive I was thanking God over & over for hearing & answering our prayers for Eli. While I was on 96 west I was driving into a Spectacular and enormous orange fireball setting in the evening sky!!! The sun was breathtaking and I felt God’s love pouring down !!! He is always with Elijah, loving, strengthening and protecting him. He is always with us all! “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Unending Prayers for Elijah, you & Ronnie. I Love you all very much.

Tera, Our Pastor’s son had heart surgery last year by Dr. Bove. His wife was just in the office and I was talking to her about Elijah. They LOVED Dr. Bove and said he was wonderful with their son. Erik is doing well now. They said to tell you Elijah is in the best hospital. They were thrilled with the care their son received there. You all are in their prayers too.

    • We had a hard time deciding on what surgeon to use in the first place. Looks like God has a plan and it wasn’t ours. Everyone here says both surgeons are amazing and we feel lucky to not have any worries about the doctors. Thank you for all your prayer and thoughts. Love you Sherrie!
